Performances and installations
A memória das rochas (2025) - Audiovisual Performance
The work highlights the movement of natural forces that constantly act to sculpt rocks and mountains. The dynamism of these energies can be perceived in the intense movement of the winds, which leave their trajectories in the matter. This information, sculpted into the rocks throughout their history, constitutes their memory. Intertwined with the geographic flow are biological forms that emerge from the confluence with the environment, including human presence, with excavations, roads, and tunnels, elements that engrave the Anthropocene period on the memory of the rocks. The video, digitally processed in real time during the performance, reacts visually to the music, evoking these memories spectrally.
Vestígios (2022) - Audiovisual Performance
Vestígios raises questions about how digital information intercepts social memory and disseminates habits, tendencies, discourses, contradictions, influencing and fragmenting the construction of memory and imagination. The imaginary of 21st-century society is involved in a situation that reveals a specific technological phantasmagoria, which blurs the limits between the real and the fictional.
Fantasma (2021) - Audiovisual Performance
Fantasma is a multimedia performance that explores sound and visual signs present in the Brazilian collective imaginary, which emerge from the relationships between individuals and the media. The work was developed in collaboration with composer Adriano Monteiro.
Mandaxis (2017) - Audiovisual Installation
Mandaxis is an exploration of the limits of gesture, sound, and image synthesis. It is a machine-toy media work that allows participants to create kaleidoscopic visual images and sounds through playful hand gestures. The project aims to provide the audience with a space in which imagination and gesture are articulated through the audiovisual game.
Electronic Improvisation for McLaren and Ray Films (2014) - Audiovisual Performance
This work is a series of musical compositions created for films of Norman McLaren and Man Ray. The project was created in collaboration with Adriano Monteiro. Working within the context of live electronic performance, we developed a space for reinterpretation, allowing the audience to experience these artists' films in a new way.
Revista Hertz (2013) - Audiovisual Installation
Revista Hertz was produced from a collection of images and sounds that can be manipulated by participants when interacting with the machine-toy built for the installation. Participants can explore the apparatus, searching for images related to specific historical periods. The images and sounds diffused from the machine, however, are full of ambiguities. Revista Hertz was created in collaboration with Maju Martins.
Continuum (2012) - Audiovisual Performance
Continuum is an audiovisual performance created for multichannel diffusion. The piece is part of a series of artworks that use handmade electronic synthesizers extended into a computational environment that processes the original sounds of the instruments using granular techniques. The algorithms also articulate music and video to allow a hybrid and integrated performance. The sounds generated from granular synthesis are then analyzed by the algorithms to feed and trigger various video effects that modify image textures, which oscillating between concrete and abstract elements. The work was presented in the Sonic Laboratory at the Sonic Arts Research Centre of Queen’s University Belfast.
Mnemorfoses (2011) - Audiovisual Performance
Mnemorfoses is audiovisual performance exploring the transformation of memory in the era of digital technologies. The three dimensions of memory described by Philosopher Pierre lévy in his book Intelligence Technologies: The Future of Thinking in the Information Age were explored as a metaphor to create the piece. As digital technologies change the way we interact with knowledge, they also influence the musical creativity and the ways we handle and perform sounds. In this new imaginative context, musical composition can be extended to integrate visual aspects. This work was created in the context of Aquarpa Project at Federal University of São Carlos.
Maquinestesia (2010) - Experimental video music
Maquinestesia is an improvised video-music work recorded in 2010 using various instruments created for the Project. Images of a prepared piano and other instruments, such as the Electric Harp and the String Wheel, appear in the video. Maquinestesia explores similarities between apparatuses of the same kind of technology. Images of the piano's internal mechanisms were combined with images of a typewriter, revealing the intersection between two diferent machine that use the same mechanical technology. This work was created in the context of Aquarpa Project at Federal University of São Carlos.
